This is why I find it so important to TALK to your CRAFTERS. Engage them, discuss what you want, work with them to see your vision. We are good, the best in Arx, but we are not mind readers. If you send us a messenger with a scrap of paper expressing your desire and nothing more, you will always get OUR best but you might not get what YOU expected. Stop viewing crafters as your presonal attendants, a commodity to demand things from. We are people, we have feelings.

Another meeting with a patron prospect! It was nice being understood for what I wish and also understanding what others want. There was no awkwardness to the interaction and a fish was produced as an aftermath of the meeting.

I had my first interview for a new patron today. It was nice to be able to speak to someone who sees me as less of a commodity and more of an actual person. I sometimes forget that myself, and it can be a hard thing to remember if no one ever talks about anything besides what they want from you.

The Mummers put on another play, and of course I created the costumes for the performers. It went well, I suppose. The gowns were auctioned off afterwards and it appears they were well received. All in all, it wasn't completely terrible.

While i'm not sure what might have happened in Alarie's shop for her to wish to turn business away, I believe it goes for every shop keeper in the city. We work hard for our money, we often lose sleep, forget to eat, and miss out on important things in life because we are trying to make your important things safer/prettier/breathtaking.

And another wedding dress crafted. It is absolutely beautiful, though I am biased. I am also starting to feel as if I shall always be the dress maker and never the bride who wears it. It might be for the best, I have yet to find another person who is willing to freeze to death just because.

I don't usually drink. Normally never, actually. So when I agreed to be a judge in a drinking contest, I thought it was going to be watching other people drink and not an actual drink contest in which I would have to taste samples of other people's concoctions. It turned out well, I didn't fall down, and I was flirted with by a man who asked me to dance. All in all, I think my charm lessons are working.

It has been a difficult task to replace Duchess Nadia as my patron. Granted, there have been very few who responded to my need for one. Though, I suppose it is about the quality of those who offered and not the quantity of how many did. Maybe there are not many who were as brave as Nadia was to take me on, and I should be grateful that she did and to those that wish to.

You were more than my Patron, Duchess Nadia Nightgold. I find that you were a friend, a companion, and certainly someone who kept me alive. You were always so concerned over my habits or lack thereof, and I might actually die now. This is not because I will mourn your passing so heavily that I will die because of it, but because you literally kept me alive with food and drink after I would forget to eat for days on end. There were always platters of food appearing from the air when I would find time to break from my intense and fierce workloads, and I know you were the cause.

I needed that. To simply be, without expectations or lies. Without misunderstandings, promises unfulfilled, or false pretenses. I have missed dining with friends, those I do not have to watch what I say or do for fear that I will be judged. My friends know what I am, they know my faults, and they seek me out still because of them. So thank you for the salmon.
