Just the other day I had the pleasure of taking Serah on a trip to the Menagerie with the wonderful Lady Melinda Grimhall...and I must say, it was the most fun I've had in a long time. It was so good to see Serah have such a wonderful time; needless to say, having the company of the Lady Grimhall was my pleasure and I cannot wait to do it again.

My warrior general of a younger cousin. Only younger by about two years, but she has the wisdom of a woman far beyond her years. She has led our family and those of the compact to many victories.

My dear sister. Ever since our parents lost their lives when I was just a small boy, and Caelis even younger, it's always been a hard journey to this point. Family and friends have made it easier, and I feel ever grateful that even though I was lost to being a soldier, traveling, and even having the fortune of marrying to have my precious child, that my sister and I have always been close.
She's come a great way, and I'm proud of all she's been able to accomplish. Her footwork and form has become much better! I'm blessed to have her as my sister.

Relationship Note on Merida
A rather fiery and passionate soul. She has all the bearings of one who roamed the seas as a pirate, but she has a heart with her, despite seeking thrill in fighting and slaying foes. We entered a good spar, to which we called a draw due to both of us being called away to perform our duties. After a small moment of deep discussion, we eventually decided a conversation over a nice drink to be held.

Wow....so it's one of those days.
Not a bad one, but one that was full of surprises and a new path to walk. Today, Hadrian offered to lay upon my shoulders a heavy responsibility. It is my honor to be named as Captain of the Hawk Guard, or rather, a much less fancy term, captain of the guard. It is something new....as I am used to being but a silly soldier, throwing my body and life on the line for the sake of my home....I am glad I have found a cause to devote to.
Although the war is past, I will miss being on the front lines. In times of peace, it is time I turned my attention to home, to protect it. To make Southport a truly protected place. It's time I moved beyond my past, and looked to the future.
I accept this responsibility whole-heartedly. I'm proud to serve my family.

Dear princess, when did you become such an avid huntress?
I went with the princess to do some hunting now that we had the freedom to go outside the walls again...it was nice getting fresh air away from the city for once. Felt like a small lifetime within the cage that was the walls. Turns out she is a most excellent shot. Afterwards, we checked out some of the markings on the wall from ages past.
I do hope to see my friend soon again. I do rather enjoy her company.

Life is turning anew in rather fun and unexpected ways.
Yesternight, I walked with the Saik Lord Karadoc and we talked for the day. Eventually he invited me to an auction event held by the Darkwaters. Initially, because I am not only a bad gambler, but also tend not to find such enjoyment in these matters. I was beyond happy to be so wrong. I didn't know how much fun these 'bidding wars' could be. What an absolute joy.
I even picked up a couple of trinkets and vouchers, perhaps one day to give them to a woman deserving of them, or to save them as memoirs for my daughter when she comes of age. Perhaps I shall use the vouchers to make gifts? or craft myself a new weapon....

Another battle I survived, when likelihood I should have fallen.
Yet I emerged without a scratch on my form. Someone must be looking out for me, or I'm incredibly lucky.
