Lord Rook Grayward has acted as the Minister of Coin for the Crown for a long while now. I remember when he was raised to Lordship, and I think it suits him well. He seems to enjoy the job that he performs for the Crown and is full of useful information.

So many words could describe this delightful creature. Cultured, wise, handsome, gifted.. I have nothing but respect for him. 'No' does not seem to be a word in his vocabulary, and if it is? Why, he is so skilled with his silver tongue that you would never know otherwise.

This courtier is a vassal of Grayson. I had him for tea and it was a wonderful conversation. He allowed me to speak freely, which means some of my questions may come off insulting.
He handled this as a courtier was with charm and flattery. I found it interesting as he explained more fully to me what a courtier does and a bit what it means to be a Whisper (although he is not officially one). I find myself with more questions still. So when we have our next tea of course.

Master Rook, resident of the Whisper House and under the thumb of the Grayson family, is a charming man. The first of several lessons went well, teaching him the simplest of Thraxian court dances - I'm sure he'll learn many more in the future, not that we're the most spectacular showing of dancing prowess in the Compact.

The third of my proteges, and proof that my interests run a fairly eclectic range. Master Rook exemplified what I felt a courtier should be from the instant that we met. He has wit, insight, exquisite taste, and spine enough to look a furious High Lord in the eyes while explaining himself. He knows how to stand his ground, how to move to cross it, and how to help you find a different perspective in ground-crossing yourself. If I were a lesser woman, I might be flustered, even embarrassed, to compare my fewer talents to his. I'm fortunate to have him as a protege.
