Relationship Note on Aldwin
Of all the people that I have worked with in Arx so far, I think I have enjoyed the Archscholar the most. Especially the exchange of messages in the early morning, and that he rarely berates me even when I say things I should not. And how he seems to get my sometimes inane sense of humour and takes my jokes as they are meant, in jest. And how no matter how silly my questions and how crazy my theories are, he never laughs or makes fun of me, and instead guides and teaches.

Aldwin makes for a surprisingly good writing companion that was not offended, despite many slips of the tongue in his presence. How he survived my visit and still maintain that composure will forever be one of the great mysteries of Arx.

He has been able to help me unlock those mysteries that kept me weak and fragile all these years. He is an exemplary mind with knowledge that stretches far beyond his years. I am often humbled in his presence and find myself blossoming ever more in his care.

Relationship Note on Aldwin
Though he was the first person I met properly when I returned to Arx, it has only been recently that I've spent more time speaking with Aldwin. The Archscholar is wonderful company, and as kind as he is wise. Now he has been convinced to spend more time away from his work I am more than happy to help see him relax away from the Academy and Shrines, a little more often at least.

Relationship Note on Aldwin
I've lived in Arx's Lower Boroughs all my life, and wandering the other bits of Arx, meeting people, especially Silks, skulking around the edges of parties -- it makes me feel like a dingy, nasty-minded old crow. I appreciate Aldwin. In a way, he's like the path I never took, and his steady, calm, slightly-amused affect is an inspiration if maybe not an . . . aspiration. I'm glad I have a friend like him to keep me rooted. Also, I don't feel old next to him! It's relaxing! (I still feel dingy, nasty-minded, and crowish, though.)

When we were very small we called him Pop-pop. Now to the world he's the Archscholar. Sometimes I can respect his vows and see him in that light. But then he sends me silver so I can buy a cloak, and not catch a chill, and nevermind I'm a woman grown.

Archscholar Aldwin has become an unexpected friend in the Vellichorian Academy of mine. He carries himself with an unfailing kindness and wisdom. I cannot help but to regard him as a doting grandfather, full of good humor and mischief and always delighted to indulge my whims without hesitation. He's agreed to oversee my trials into becoming a scholar of Vellichor, for which I'm also most delighted and grateful.

THe Archscholar is, unsurprisingly, fascinating to talk to. I just... I have such reservations about his openness. Perhaps I am too paranoid these days. I want to trust him, I really do. But when the darkness comes, can we afford to be unbiased? We shall see. I clearly need to speak more with him.

A fine illustration of both the virtues of a man of honest, forthright scholarship, and of the difficulties in mixing such a man with an inherently complex and pride-driven world. Much can be learned from the Archscholar's wisdom and compassion. I only pray that the Compact learns the lessons while we can benefit the most from them.

Relationship Note on Aldwin
He wasn't the first person I would have expected to contact me concerning what I wanted to learn. After meeting him I couldn't be happier it turned out like it did. Two different walks of life, two different faiths, but still our paths may converge and meet somewhere in the middle on common ground. I hope not only for his instruction, but maybe even friendship as well. He seems a man I could spend hours talking to, aimlessly and pointlessly in direction of word but still be continuously learning more. Luckily, I am meeting with him in the early mornings after my morning runs and spars to do that very thing - pick his mind.

Relationship Note on Aldwin
I finally got a chance to sit and talk with Archscholar Aldwin, and already feel wiser for the experience. I cannot deny that this is a little childish, but there is a calm and honor to the man. After talking to him you are left with a sense that no matter how dark things are, we will endure, and history will carry on. We are richer for his service and that of the Scholars of Vellichor.
