Relationship Note on Miranda

Dully noted.

I think it magically happens every year at the same date.

That being said, you only have a few years, I'm going to stop at thirty, imagining it never came.

The celebration has been splendid and all I had wished for: a fine evening with my friends, having fun, being playful and a good conversation. Thank you to all those who came to celebrate with me and make me happy and all the beautiful gifts.

I would like to apologize to the lamp that had been the victim of a misguided cream pie and has been promptly replaced and now resides in my chambers, marked by shame but loved nonetheless.

I swear I was going to host a small birthday celebration.

But then I found a pony.....

Relationship Note on Felix

I've always been a fan of the magnificent hairpins sold by Brother Felix, not only are they beautiful but useful for a small woman like me. Imagine my sheer delight and surprise when he invited me to model and inspire one.

The result is outstanding, although I am biased, but those who are familiar with his work will know it must be true.

Thank you, you honour me.

As a child, whenever I saw Estelle, my tutor, she seemed like the oldest person in the world to me. She was roughly my age now when I was under her care and educating hand.

I was surprised to meet her upon my return to Artshall and realize she is not old, but my mother's age had she survived all that occured...

Estelle noted the changes in me, her notes upon my person and the ones left by the city. She disapproved some and praised others.

Can a city truly inspire such change?
I miss my mother.

Finally, it is spring.

Time to visit Artshall to make sure all the is ready for construction.

I have never been so excited to go back home.

Relationship Note on Thomas

Having someone sympathetic of your past is one thing.
Having someone who shared and understand it is another.
I am so happy to have you in the city.

How many ways are there to lose a friend?

They can die - in battle, in accident, by malice, by sickness.
You can have a disagreement that will drive a wedge between you over time which you cannot heal from.
They can up and leave the city because they find life here is just not suitable for them anymore.

They say death will hurt forever but time heals, a fight can be reconciled or also get jaded in time or make room to other feelings, normally not good ones. They say people leaving the city is something one needs to get used to.

I will never get used to not having you as part of my daily life.
My confidant.
My advisor.
My bearer of ancient wisdom.
My royal vault.

I was not one of those who complained about winter but I've learned to appreciate it even more this week.

A magical open clearing in the middle of the forest, glittering with frosty bits of ice. A deer hunting for food, eating from my palm because what other choice does he have? And silence. Utter Silence. Magnificent.

Thank you, Duke Farshaw, for allowing me to tag along to your annual hike. I cannot wait for next year! I will certainly pack more carrots.

Some things I will never get used to.

Not winter, winter is fine.

The Clearlake Ball was the most pleasurable of events. I always find myself at ease among those I know and care for and if you add dancing and an impromptu fun competition - what more can you ask for?

Oh and cake! There was cake.

There is no such thing as death due to abundance of puppies.

Perhaps I shall teach you that lesson by letting you watch ALL OF THEM for a single week.

Brace yourself.

While I adore winter and all that comes with it, I cannot wait till spring.
As plans begin to get a clearer pattern, I'm excited for what's to come.

Every time I breathe air that I do not have to pay for, it feels less fresh now, cheap even.
How are we to solve that?

I adore winter, especially the serenity of it. But for reasons that are entirely unrelated to the seasons, I cannot wait for spring!
