Today I met with a curious apothecary who focuses upon scents for both men and women. A delightful creature with a keen nose for such things. She is even going to create a scent for me, the 'Lady Apple', as she calls me. And as fortune would have it my cousin also made her way to the shop. It was lovely seeing her after so very long but it was sadly a short visit but that something that I shall remedy in short order.
I have been playing the game of two million questions with this curious Knight and so far he's made quite the good progress having reached seventy-nine questions answered. A long way to go yet, but if he reaches at least two-hundred I shall be impressed. The last person I played this game with only made it to thirty-seven answered before they could stand it no more.

I am here to publicly declare that the amount of times my Grandmaster becomes frustrated at new entries to the archives gives me a frown!
I am not one who enjoys frowns. I am one who enjoys the happy, upward locomotion of one's mouth during a smile. As such, I must take action to rectify this, for my happiness and Grandmaster Grayhope's good sanity!
So it goes that I put forth my humble request that every new entry by Grandmaster Grayhope that will be followed by a shake of her head, a sigh, and her angrily scribbling something down with a quill, must be repaid in no less than twenty push-ups per angry writing! I will happily offer my accompaniment to the archives of Vellichor should she take on this holy quest and provide nourishment in the form of a bovine's blessed milk.
Exercise does the mind and soul good!

Relationship Note on Dawn
Sometimes while looking through my sketches to find something to copy for someone or just totally remake, I come across much older ones that make me pause with a wave of nostalgia that near takes my breath. Today it was an elegant recurve bow that I had made for Princess Dawn Grayson, who was one of the warmest and kindest people one could ever hope for. Greens, blues and turquoises - I was never able to bring myself to use those same colors together again after her disappearance. There was a brightness to her, as well as this fun and mischievous side that was hard not to adore. I didn't realize how much I still missed her until I leafed to that sketch.

Marquis Fairen Leary has repeatedly harassed and offended the Keatons, my vassals, for several months after an unpleasant encounter after which the Keatons made VERY clear that they wanted nothing to do with him. His claims are entirely baseless (ironic...yes, ironic! given his earlier interest in integrity) and laughable. I do hope that he will actually keep his word and leave them alone after this preposterous challenge.

Marquis Fairen Leary... So, with the challenge made to my liege, Countess-Consort Reigna Keaton, wife of my cousin and as close to blood as it can get, I decided to spend the afternoon reading through the history of white journal exchanges between the two, to better understand the situation as I was not there for the initial incident.
Knowing Countess-Consort Keaton as well as I do, I can easily vouch for her unwavering integrity, warm heart and good nature and I have never known an instance that she has ever been duplicitous, disloyal or deceitful. I don't even think she is capable of such things by her very nature, so such accusations lead me to only one logical conclusion.
Marquis Leary has obviously lost his senses completely and I would highly recommend immediate attention by the Mercies at the House of Solace or whatever healer may be nearest. I have heard that they can do miraculous things with damages to the mind as well as the body and I wish him all of my best in a swift and full recovery to a working and whole mind again.
May Lagoma be with him and his family through what must be a very frightening and trying ordeal. If there is anything at all that I can do, I hope that they will see beyond any past slights with House Keaton, real or imagined, and reach out for the help they need.

The concept of the First Liar was so fascinating the first time I heard of it. Naturally that role is filled in the Oathlands by the 'Name Witness', and its purpose is to provide a child with someone who is responsible for their moral comprehension and religious knowledge. The first time I heard of a First Liar I was genuinely appalled. But the more I thought about it and the more I read about Lycene culture, the more loving I understood the role to be. It is hard for a woman of my nature to be able to see a lie as a loving thing, or truly understand the machinations that must be a part of life for Lycene nobility. This is not aided by the fact that many of the Lycenes I socialize with, yourself included, tend to be of a forthright mentality. I wonder if all physicians have a tendency towards forthright discourse, given our unique perspective of just how frequently people tell lies to their healers. The illogic of it still baffles me, but human nature is a curious thing.

As a Lycene who was given a First Liar to guide me in the art of deception before I could even talk, I find these journals about lying to be hilarious. Most who know me know I rarely lie if at all. I prefer blunt honesty as a soldier and physician but never forget I am a soldier of the Lycene.
On that note, I officially name Archduchess Eleyna Velenosa as First Liar to Idris and Iris or whichever of them she prefers if not both of them. May her wisdom and cunning serve my brats well.
