As the siege goes on, King Alaric Grayson IV still is yet to make a public appearance despite his waking up some time ago. It becomes common knowledge that the king is so badly traumatized he is no position to rule, though some are steadfastly guarding him and helping with his recovery. Marquessa Samantha Deepwood has been a constant presence at the palace, visiting her childhood friend as often as time permits, and trying to draw him out of his deepseated trauma with the Lady Lailah Bisland trying to research his condition. Cybele, Princess Sophie and Lady Khanne along with Lailah come to the conclusion that there is nothing supernatural seemingly about his plight, but it's trauma that shattered the king's mind, and time and constant care is attempting to bring him back from that, with Princess Sophie trying to see to his needs. With the infiltration of the Bringers, the king's safety has been far from assured, but Princess Lark, Princess Cara, Tristan the stablemaster, along with Prince Laric of the Inquisition and the Inquisitor Alistair have kept a vigil at the palace, and no attacks on the king have come, quite possibly from the diligence they and the King's Own have shown.
