Kraken's Kin

Story Emits

There's a surprising lack of violence with the arrival of the Kraken's Kin in the Lower Boroughs. Despite a hundred shavs showing up to bend the knee and become prodigals while raving about Ianthe being 'a princess of House Marin', quite a few individuals go out of their way to help the Kraken's Kin integrate into society and become good, productive, only semi-despised prodigals by most of the Compact. Calandra, Valery, Percephon, Jeremiah, and Ira all help many of the Kin find work, and vanish into the populace of Arx.

A sizable continent of Kraken's Kin stay watching their ships at all times, and those ones are approached by Lord Commander Silas Mercier backed up by Lord Michael Bisland and Prince Ainsley Grayson. At first, it looks like they might resist the order to come peacefully, but Zhayla is on hand, and many on the docks notice the extreme deference they show to the young woman, any thoughts of violence resistance vanishing as the score of Kraken's Kin reverently defer to her and agree to go with Silas peacefully. Aureth, Fortunato and Aleksei were on hand in case there was violence, but it passes without incident. In the following days, numerous prodigals are seen approaching Zhayla, as she seems to have become rather popular as a problem solver for prodigal issues.

Word arrives that a sizable Thraxian contingent sailed for the Saffron Chain and Duchess Margot Tyde led negotiations with some Abandoned over potentially bending the knee, and Julea, Max, Abbas and Valerius took part. Whether the Abandoned agreed or not has not yet reached Arx.

As for Ianthe? She's vanished without a trace. Some of the prodigals (most likely Kraken's Kin) were frantically asking around the Lower Boroughs, but thus far, no one has found her.
