Eleyna reaches out to the merchant princes and trading houses based out of the Lyceum, stressing that the stability that Niccolo as Archduke woulf offer, especially in this time of crisis, would be invaluable to ensuring their profits remain secure. While Eleyna soothes and flatters with well-chosen words and expensive gifts, the basic gist is the same: If they want to keep making money, then they need to show their support to House Velenosa and use their economic power to make sure that those cities and Houses that they do trade with follow suit.
Result
Princess Eleyna Velenosa is VERY good at manipulating merchants. The Black Widow of House Velenosa manages to sway the entire merchant caste, not only of Lenosia, but the words spread through most of the Lyceum. Stability and their own best interests are powerful incentives, and come what may, they firmly believe that backing Niccolo is the answer.
